Lytton Rancheria Tribal Head Start Preschool
Wright School has an on-site Preschool run by the Lytton Rancheria Tribal Head Start Center. This program provides opportunities to participate in age appropriate activities that are designed to meet the child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Staff and parents/guardians partner to plan a program that emphasizes the development of "social competence." "Social competence" means the child's everyday effectiveness in dealing with both his or her present environment and later responsibilities in school and life. In addition, Head Start offers family members, opportunities and support for growth and change, believing that people can identify their own strengths, needs, and interests and are capable of finding solutions.
Our Lytton Rancheria program is located at Wright School and open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Children are in the classroom Monday through Thursday for 3 ½ hours per class. For more information contact the Program Coordinator, Terri Gutierrez, at Wright School, 542-0556.
Eligibility
To be eligible for Head Start services, a child must be at least three years old by the date used to determine eligibility for the Wright School district. (Head Start Performance Standards 1305.4). Head Start services are provided to 3-5 year olds.
Before & After School Care
Childcare is provided at each of our school sites by Extended Childcare Coalition.
ECC is a private, nonprofit organization that has operated childcare for our District since 1986. They provide quality childcare which includes academic programs and homework time for students.
