Biography

Dr. Salvaggio began her teaching career as an elementary educator following a nine-year career in the United States Air Force. While in the armed forces, Dr. Salvaggio‘s distinguished service earned multiple awards, including USAF Commendation Medals and the Commandant’s Award for Leadership and Management. Salvaggio served in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) as a crew chief and lead mechanic on B-52’s, and managed flight line maintenance operations at her base in Okinawa, Japan. She entered the profession as a substitute teacher while attending night school under the GI Bill, and has teaching experience at all grades, K-6. As an administrator, Dr. Salvaggio has served as an assistant principal, principal, director of special education, and assistant superintendent. 

At the forefront of her many accomplishments, Dr. Salvaggio is credited with leading the development of instructional programs and building the capacity of administrative leadership within Romoland School District so it became one of only thirteen school districts in California to successfully exit Program Improvement. She holds a doctorate in educational leadership, served as principal of a model applied-technology research school, and was the principal of a California Distinguished School.
