School District

Announcements

  • Dear WESD Families -

All District schools will reopen on Monday, 11/4.

Custodial and District Maintenance Crews returned to work today to begin cleaning and swapping out air filters. There was no damage to the schools and very little accumulation of ash.

The air quality forecast looks promising for the rest of this week and into next week. However, should smoke become a problem, we will move kids indoors for recess and PE.

As of today, the District Office is still without power. We hope to be back up and running by the end of today and open tomorrow, Friday.

    Sincerely -

    Adam Schaible
    District Superintendent

  • Dear Parents and Staff - Wright ESD schools will be closed on Monday, 10/28 and Tuesday, 10/29. Most of our teachers and staff have been evacuated and we do not know when they will be allowed to return. Also, the Kincade fire is at this time only 10% contained and has grown to 30,000 acres.

Moreover, while the current PSPS (which has affected all three schools) is projected to end on Monday, PG&E will then need time to inspect and repair lines before reenergizing. Given the high winds and fire damage around the county, this could take a while.

A decision about Wednesday will be made on Tuesday, or earlier if conditions warrant. PSPS, air-quality, availability of staff, and the readiness of district facilities all play a part in the decision about when to reopen school.

Student Resources

  • Clever

  • Wright Charter School is a charming public elementary school that has traditionally served students in grades K-6. During the 2009-2010 school year the elementary school began its first year as a charter school. Between 2009 and 2010 we added the seventh and eighth grades to Wright Charter School. The school now provides education for students in kindergarten through eighth grades. Teachers and staff are excited to have added the seventh and the eighth grades. It serves a need in our community for parents who desire that their young teens and tweens continue to learn in a small environment where staff and community know students by name and are well versed in their skills and abilities. The early teen and tween years are a time when students benefit from adult support in many areas.

What is our mission for students in kindergarten through eighth grades?

Wright Charter School seeks to empower students to develop a passion for lifelong learning and to nurture them by engaging their intellect, emotions, and natural curiosity. We seek to instill not only the knowledge, skills and abilities set forward in the California State Standards, but to develop student competence and motivation to use their education responsibly enriching their own lives and the lives of those in their communities.
