The daily sub rate is $200.

Retiree subs will be paid $200 in 2025-26. A proposal to change this to $300 per day is pending. 

STRS Retiree Earnings Limit is $80,245 in fiscal year 2025-26, after 180 day 'sitting out' priod.

Classified Subtitue Registration

Classified Sub Pay is on the first step of the appropriate range of the Classified Salary Schedule for the position being filled.

Step 1. Submit a completed Classified Substitute Application to HR.

Step 2. Interview

Step 3. Complete HR paperwork

Step 4: Submit a Classified Timesheet (Substitute pay is issued on the 10th of the month, or the last business day prior to the 10th of the month.)
